Having grown up in a very cultured, educated and refined family, and with the means to leave Germany if he wished, it is all the more remarkable that Bonhoeffer stayed in Germany during the war and actively resisted the Hitler regime. Even though the reader knows how the story plays out, this book will keep you absorbed to the end. Bonhoeffer is a fascinating figure who lived out his faith even though it meant almost certain death for himself. (Marsha, Adult and Teen Department)
